Local TransportationBecause our area is well known for heavy rush-hour traffic, we have provided the following modes of transportation that are available:Metrorail (METRO) mass transit system has stations in Fairfax and Arlington Counties, the cities of Falls Church and Alexandria and it goes directly into downtown Washington, DC The stations that are located outside of Washington, DC have large parking facilities with minimum parking fees charged to commuters. And, for those who do not wish to drive to the stations, there are many Commuter Rush Hour Buses that go directly to the stations. The Virginia Railway Express (VRE) commuter train has stations throughout Fairfax, Prince William, Stafford, Spotsylvania counties and the city of Fredericksburg. With stops in the cities of Alexandria, and Manassas, Arlington County, and Washington, DC Many of the VRE stations connect with Metro Stations so commuters can connect to more locations in Washington, DC There are large parking facilities with minimum parking fees charged to commuters. www.prtctransit.org
